Our club is dedicated to providing enriching and rejuvenating outdoor experiences that foster a deep connection with nature, yourself and others, and promotes self-care and curiosity of the living beings around you. Whether you are a seasoned nature lover or someone new to exploring the outdoors, our club offers a welcoming environment for everyone.

Our Mission

At the Nature Connection Walks Club, our mission is to create opportunities for individuals to prioritize their own self care and creating space to slow down, breathe, meet new friends in the community and immerse themselves in the beauty and calmness of nature. We believe that spending time outdoors is essential for mental, emotional, social and physical well-being. Through those walks, we aim to help participants reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the natural world around them.

What We Offer

​

The Nature Connection Walks Club outlines 2-3 walks each month throughout the year, each designed to provide a perfect balance of physical activity and leisurely exploration. Our walks typically last about 2 hours and cover distances of up to 2-3 miles, making them accessible to people of various fitness levels and backgrounds. Those walks are not structured as a Guided Forest Therapy Walk and are incorporating more community building.

What sets our walks apart is their focus on mindfulness and appreciation of the natural world. We offer a slower-paced hike that allows participants to truly engage with their surroundings.

 

Here’s what you can expect from a typical walk with our club:

  1. Mindful Walking: Our walks encourage a slower pace, giving you the time to notice the small wonders of nature that are often overlooked. This mindful approach helps you stay present and deepen your connection to the environment. 

  2. Self-Care Focus: These walks are not just about physical activity but also about prioritizing your own well-being. We believe that time spent in nature can be transformative, helping to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance overall health.

  3. Educational Insights: Along the way, we share interesting observations with each other, and use apps like Seek by iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID to playfully identify plants, birds, spiders, bugs etc., to deepen our knowledge, relationship and connection to the local flora and fauna. This component enriches your experience and fosters a deeper appreciation of the natural world.

  4. Community Connection: Our walks are a great way to meet like-minded individuals who share a love for nature and a commitment to personal well-being. The sense of community and shared experience can be uplifting and inspiring.

Our club is open to everyone, regardless of background or experience level. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or someone who simply enjoys a leisurely stroll, you'll find our walks to be enjoyable and fulfilling.

All are welcomed to join us in exploring the great outdoors.

*** This is intended for adults (+18) to take some time away from their busy lives. We understand the importance of supporting our kids to connect to nature as well so we do offer services for the kids if needed (for extra charge). We partnered with a company that can provide 'Adventure Facilitators' to take our kids on an adventure as we go take ours.

How to Join

Joining the Nature Connection Walks Club is simple:

  1. Sign Up: Complete the membership registration form. You can join at any time.

  2. Choose Your Walks: Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email inviting you to subscribe to our calendar of events. Choose the walks that fit your schedule and sign up.

  3. Prepare for Your Walk: We provide all the information you need to prepare for each walk, including meeting points, what to bring, and what to expect. Just come dressed in comfortable walking attire, bring a bottle of water, and be ready to enjoy a peaceful walk in nature.

  4. Join the Community: Engage with other members through our online FB group, where you can share your experiences, post photos, and stay connected between walks.
